This full-time role emphasizes cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, and be proficient in achieving low-latency performance for trading systems. This is a remote-first position with required overlap during US Central Time business hours.

🎯 Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (8+ years) to lead infrastructure, automation, and reliability efforts across our platform. You will own cloud‑native and hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and platform performance — including low‑latency and algorithmic trading system requirements — collaborating closely with engineers and product owners to enable fast, safe delivery and production‑grade performance.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud and hybrid (cloud + on‑prem/colocated) infrastructure using IaC.

• Build, operate, and improve CI/CD pipelines with safe promotion and fast rollback.

• Containerize applications and manage orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/GKE).

• Implement full observability: metrics, tracing, logging, SLIs/SLOs.

• Optimize infrastructure for low‑latency, high‑throughput workloads in algo‑trading contexts.

• Support market‑data ingestion, order management, FIX connectivity, and real‑time pipelines.

• Automate operational tasks, participate in on‑call, and lead incident response & postmortems.

• Drive capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and chaos testing.

• Apply best practices in security, compliance, and secrets management.

• Mentor junior engineers and help define DevOps/SRE standards and operational playbooks.

📘 Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps/SRE/infrastructure roles supporting production systems.

• Hands‑on cloud experience (AWS preferred) + hybrid/colocated deployments.

• IaC expertise: Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

• Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.

• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.

• Strong Linux skills: kernel tuning, perf/eBPF profiling, network stack optimization.

• Low‑latency & real‑time systems expertise (microsecond–millisecond targets).

• Market data & trading system experience: FIX, order management, exchange connectivity.

• Streaming & messaging tech: Kafka, Aeron, or equivalents.

• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic, tracing tools.

• Scripting: Python and/or Bash.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum + strong communication and cross‑functional leadership.

✨ Nice to Have

• GitOps: ArgoCD, Flux; advanced Helm chart development.

• DPDK, RDMA, kernel‑bypass, FPGA/accelerator optimizations.

• Experience with colocated or exchange‑connected infrastructure.

• Chaos engineering, load testing for low‑latency systems.

• Additional cloud provider experience (GCP/Azure).

• Security certifications or CI/CD integrated security automation.
