A luxury fashion house is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage various accounting and operational duties. This role involves monthly closing of accounts, expense reviews, and tax coordination. Formación

  • Review expenses according to company policy.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports to: CFO LATAM

Location: Mexico City

JOB PURPOSE: Performs a wide variety of duties relating to accounting and operations, to maintain control over invoicing, cash, and accounting entries (accruals, expenses, etc.).

This position requires accuracy, urgency, concise and timely communication, independent judgment, strong organizational and analytic skills.

Sr. Accountant is also responsible for internal controls and procedures, jointly with the CFO.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Review expenses in line with company internal policy
  • Plan and execute the monthly closing of the books (Balance Sheet & P&L)
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts for the legal entity in Mexico are fully reconciled monthly
  • Review and control the costs of goods and margin analysis
  • Maintain the accuracy of the fixed assets (value, correct coding, flows, reconciliation and accruals) and their depreciation
  • Ensure intercompany reconciliations are performed and discrepancies immediately fully investigated
  • Ensure the accuracy of all accruals and reversals, prepaid accounts and rebills
  • Perform bi-monthly invoicing
  • Coordinate all tax topics including income tax return, sales & use tax, state and federal audit
  • Manage the transfer price audits and external audits
Skills and Competencies
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (in a multinational company is a plus)
  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced in Excel
  • Strong knowledge in Tax and inventory cost control
  • Ability to prioritize, take initiatives and work as a team player, and independently at times
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive, moving environment
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person
