About the role:

The Senior Project Engineering Manager (Food Industry/Powder Processes) is responsible for participating in large-scale engineering projects with great impact in the company. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating complex processes like spray drying and powder handling, and ensuring safety and food safety standards. The manager will oversee the implementation of advanced automation technologies and ensure all activities adhere to GMP and high hygienic design criteria. Effective collaboration with global teams and key stakeholders is essential, along with optimizing operational efficiency using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM principles.

Main Responsibilities:

• Managing multidisciplinary teams, including direct staff, contractors, and unionized personnel, with a daily load of up to 350 people on-site.
• Coordinating the integration of spray drying processes, powder handling, and mixing, ensuring compliance with food industry standards.
• Overseeing the implementation of advanced automation and data acquisition technologies, aligned with the company's global standards.
• Ensuring design and construction under GMP and high hygienic design criteria, including sanitary installations, HVAC, fire protection systems, and electrical distribution.
• Collaborating with global teams and key stakeholders through effective communication with suppliers and collaborators.
• Participating in the definition and optimization of layouts, material flows, ergonomics, and operational efficiency under lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM principles.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing and executing large-scale engineering projects (CAPEX > $50M USD), including plant construction, equipment installation, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with timelines, costs, and quality.
• Previous experience in companies with spray drying processes and powder handling.
• Solid knowledge in drying technologies, powder mixing (ribbon blender, plow blender), industrial automation, and plant construction.
• Advanced English, essential for global and technical interaction.
• Desirable certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI) and knowledge in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM.
• General skills in construction, electrical installations, HVAC, fire protection systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials.
