A global technology company in Mexico is seeking a Category Specialist to manage T&E category plans and supplier relationships. This role requires significant analytical skills and experience in procurement. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or equivalent experience, alongside 4-6 years in Category Management. Duties include supplier analysis, cost evaluations, and support in negotiations. A strong command of business English is necessary for this dynamic position, which aims to enhance supplier performance and ensure policy adherence.

Develops and executes T&E category plans to drive improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, supplier service levels, coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, payments and risk mitigation. Supports category sourcing strategies including development and implementation of RFIs and RFPs, selection criteria, supplier negotiation and ongoing supplier management. Engages with different cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing alignment and support of category management. The role includes analytical, operational and project coordination support contributing to procurement-related initiatives by supporting project planning, tracking, and execution under guidance.

• Conduct supplier and market analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities
• Contributes to total cost analyses and ensuring their understanding / acceptance by the team.
• Support the T&E Global Category Manager to implement strategy and initiatives.
• Supports initial and annual price negotiation strategy development and execution, ensuring total costs are evaluated and documented appropriately for each award.
• Conduct negotiations, leveraging advanced negotiating capabilities to successfully achieve desired business outcomes.
• Gathers and analyzes supplier performance data, contributing to development of annual supplier ratings and associated performance assessments
• Develops data-driven insights, defining and communicating supplier performance improvement recommendations
• Follows through on approved recommendations, ensuring supplier understanding and monitoring implementation and outcomes
• Assesses performance deficiencies, resolving or escalating appropriately.
• Track and report cost savings and other KPIs to Global Category manager
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Drafting policies and procedures communications and broadcasting them in cooperation with Global Category Manager
• Support the Global Category Manager in preparing presentations, RFP documentation, and supplier performance reviews
• Coordinate with TMC (Travel management Company) and Payment provider to standardize booking and payment processes.
• Provide the central T&E Team with the right tools to perform their duties.
• Improve existing tools to enhance T&E expenditure-monitoring in cooperation with Procurement Operations Team and Global Category Manager
• Secure a clear transition from current corporate card and travel administrators from the different DN geographies to the central team.
• Facilitate legal and documental requirements to provide team with proper authorization for travel and corporate card administration globally (e.g. Compliance with GDPR or other Data Privacy regulations)
• Develop status reports and presentations as needed.
• Support other departments with T&E reports and data.
• Aid in the delinquency reduction target of the travel category based on Global Category Manager inputs.
• Skills:
  Possesses the knowledge and ability to apply effective analytical techniques and tools. Analyzes organizational issues, determines the root cause and creates alternative solutions that are in the best interest of the business. Approaches situations by defining the issue, determining its significance and identifying the forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of data and arrive at conclusions, applying flow charts, diagrams and other tools as necessary. Able to systematically compare and assess varied alternative solutions.
• Knowledge of and ability to use organizational methods, practices and tools for administering and managing projects. Documents project meetings, including status report on deliverables and next steps. Develop cost-benefit analyses; tracking and reviewing actual versus planned cost. Ensures project-related problems are surfaced, documented and reported.
