TheR&D Product Developer Sr Engineer will play a key role in driving innovation, productivity, brand stewardship, and portfolio transformation projects. You will lead initiatives from concept through to launch, ensuring technical excellence, consumer relevance, and business impact. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work closely with multifunctional teams across the organization.
Your Impact
AsR&D Product Developer Sr Engineeryour responsibilities would consist of:
Lead end-to-end R&D projects, from concept, formulation, and prototyping to pilot plant trials, scale-up, and market launch.
Partner with global and regional teams (Mexico and LATAM) to ensure flawless execution and alignment with strategic priorities.
Translate consumer insights, business needs, and emerging trends into product concepts and technical solutions.
Apply advanced knowledge of food science, ingredients, and processing technologies to develop innovative and cost-effective products.
Manage technical documentation and ensure compliance with product, nutrition, and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct pilot plant and industrial trials, capturing operational learnings to refine product specifications.
Collaborate with multifunctional partners including marketing, operations, supply chain, regulatory, sensory, and finance to deliver successful projects.
Mentor and support junior developers, providing technical guidance and sharing best practices.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across R&D processes.
Who Are We Looking For?
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in R&D within the food industry, with proven track record in product development, pilot plant, and/or industrial scale-up.
Languages: Advanced English and Spanish, required for collaboration with global teams.
Strong technical knowledge combined with business acumen and innovation mindset.
Excellent project management skills, capable of leading multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Proactive, results-oriented, and resilient in dynamic, complex environments.
Ability to work effectively in laboratories, pilot plants, and industrial facilities, with occasional travel to support trials and implementations.
