Position Overview

Trio is seeking a highly organized and client-oriented Energy Analyst to support our Energy Supply Advisory team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Energy Manager and senior advisors in delivering procurement, risk management, budgeting, and strategic services for major clients across North America. The Analyst will not only execute client deliverables but also focus on building efficient, repeatable processes that can be leveraged across clients and services.

This role provides a unique opportunity to learn about energy markets and client service delivery including procurement, risk management, reporting, budgeting, rate optimization, and other strategic and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate is an avid learner, detail-oriented, and proficient with tools and data. This role combines analytical responsibilities with client-facing exposure, providing a strong career path into advisory and management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Client Support and Advisory (40%) - Support the Energy Manager and senior advisors with client deliverables related to energy procurement strategy, risk management, budgeting, and market insights.
  • Data and Market Analysis (30%) - Analyze utility, supplier, and market data to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Account and Project Management (20%) - Maintain organized records of client decisions, contracts, pricing deadlines, and milestones.
  • Internal Collaboration and Process Improvement (10%) - Partner with advisory, operations, and data teams to ensure quality and timely client deliverables.
Desired Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, energy management, sustainability, or related field.
  • One to three years of energy industry experience preferred including energy supplier, utility, consultant, or corporate buyer.
  • Exposure to electricity or natural gas markets in the US is a plus.
Required Skills
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong project coordination skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and comfort with data visualization or analysis tools.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
