Overview

Peterson School is looking for a highly motivated English Coordinator with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the educational field. This is a key role that requires exceptional team‑working skills and a strong commitment to the professional development of teachers, in order to meet and exceed the objectives set by our institution.

Job Description

As the English Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading, guiding, and supporting our team of teachers in planning and executing their teaching duties. Your work will be essential in ensuring that every team member meets Peterson School’s educational standards and contributes to the growth and development of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate: Lead the English department, ensuring curricula and teaching methodologies are effective and aligned with institutional goals.
  • Professional development: Promote the professional growth of teachers through training sessions, workshops, and feedback sessions to help them reach their educational goals and improve their teaching practice constantly.
  • Teamwork: Foster an environment of collaboration and open communication among teachers, facilitating conflict resolution and implementing joint projects that benefit students.
  • Evaluation and monitoring: Put in place systems for evaluating teacher performance and student progress, in order to identify areas for improvement and adjust teaching strategies based on results.
  • Educational innovation: Stay at the forefront of pedagogical and technological trends in English language teaching, integrating new tools and methodologies to enrich our students’ learning experience.
  • Communication with parents and community: Establish an effective communication channel with parents and the broader educational community, reporting on progress, activities, and achievements of the English department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Pedagogy, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in similar roles.
  • English certification at an advanced level (at least C1) or equivalent, e.g. international exams (Cambridge, TOEFL, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Experience working in a team and managing teaching staff.
  • Knowledge of using technological tools applied to education.
  • Leadership ability and capacity to motivate and inspire others.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Google Workspace for collaboration, communication, and administrative tasks.
