EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving safety, hygiene, and environmental policies, ensuring legal and corporate compliance. They manage health programs, handle hazardous waste, coordinate audits and inspections, train staff, and ensure a safe workplace in accordance with current regulations.
Main ActivitiesImplement and ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations (both internal and governmental).
Manage risks and safe working conditions, including inspections, walk-throughs, audits, drills, and incident control.
Oversee the handling of hazardous substances and waste, as well as emissions, discharges, and chemical labeling.
Coordinate health and training programs in safety, hygiene, and environmental topics, in collaboration with Human Resources and the nursing department.
Follow up and report to authorities and regulatory bodies (STPS, IMSS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, etc.), while staying updated on applicable laws and regulations
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) are a plus.
Languages
Advanced English (written and spoken).
Spanish proficiency (for local compliance and communication).

Knowledge
Occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations (STPS, IMSS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA).
Hazardous waste management and chemical safety (MSDS, labeling, storage).
Emergency response planning and drills.
Risk assessment and incident investigation.
Auditing processes for safety, health, and environmental compliance.
ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
