We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-fluent subject matter expert to lead stewardship of American Express Global Business Travel Group’s hotel domain data. This enterprise-wide role will provide subject matter expertise in hotel content and data flows across our products and services, e.g., online and offline booking processes, reporting, analytics and many others).

The successful candidate will participate in various projects and initiatives to ensure alignment of hotel data across the business – working collaboratively to ensure that hotel-related standards and data quality rules are in place to deliver trusted hotel data, key performance indicators, lineage, and metadata are curated, accurate, consistent, and governed across our global travel sales and software ecosystem.

What You'll do

  • Govern hotel-related data assets, metadata, lineage, and critical data elements (CDEs)
  • Define, maintain, and align enterprise hotel key performance indicators
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and data contracts for hotel reservations data
  • Support efforts to establish and mature reference data management (RDM) and master data management (MDM) capabilities
  • Act as the enterprise expert for hotel reservation flows across:
    • Travel counselor-assisted bookings
    • Travel Partner Network (TPN) bookings
    • Online and offline tools/products that produce, process of consume hotel data
    • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure integration of hotel data across platforms
    • Review hotel data quality reports and work to resolve data quality improvements
  • Serve as the point of escalation for hotel data-related issues across the business
  • Ensure that hotel KPIs and metrics are consistently defined, sourced, and reported
  • Support enterprise reporting by aligning data lineage and traceability for hotel-related data
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards, data catalogs, and business glossaries specific to hotel content

What We’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, data management, information systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in travel data management, with at least 3 years working with hotel data
  • Understanding of booking channels and tools
  • Background that includes data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and KPI definitions
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment across multiple stakeholders and business units
  • Understanding of hotel distribution systems, content aggregation, and hotel booking processes/flows
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DMBOK-aligned preferred)
  • Familiarity with data management tools (Alation, Collibra, DataHub, Anacoma, or similar), a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to bridge technical and business perspectives
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills across global teams
