A manufacturing company in Tijuana is seeking a Buyer responsible for developing material planning strategies and managing procurement. The ideal candidate has over 6 years of experience in low volume/high mix environments, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and proficient in Excel and ERP systems. Leadership skills and supplier relationship management are essential for this role.

The BUYER is responsible for developing and managing material planning strategies, procuring raw materials, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to ensure material availability for production and achieve on-time delivery goals. This role involves creating and executing effective procurement strategies to ensure operational excellence, analyzing data, preparing forecasts and reports, and collaborating with production, scheduling, operations, and external suppliers to optimize supply chain performance, mitigate risks, and resolve material supply challenges effectively.

6+ years of directly applicable Procurement and Supply Chain Experience is needed, preferably in low volume / high mix environments.

Proficient at developing direct and indirect materials procurement strategies, has to be proficient in data analysis and swift at translating complex data challenges into actionable data for the team.

The ideal candidate will leverage an effective supplier relationship management to ensure on time delivery of materials and to reduce costs where possible.

The ideal candidate should also display leadership soft and hard skills to maintain a productive and positive environment amongst all the members of the team.

APICS / ASCM certification is desirable, i.e., C.P.M., CPIM, CPSM, CSCP. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP / MRP systems is a must.

The ideal candidate has to be fully bilingual English / Spanish as the day to day will include communication with peers, customers and suppliers in the US and abroad.
