Senior Tax Consultant - Global Compliance Reporting - Financial Services

The opportunity

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Tax professional to join our Global Compliance & Reporting team in Milan, focused on the banking and financial sector.

Our Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) practice operates within SLT, focusing on helping clients effectively manage statutory and tax obligations proactively and responsibly. The activity to be performed includes day-to-day assistance on direct/indirect taxes issues, preparation of tax memoranda on specific topics, taxation of financial instruments, and tax impact on extraordinary transactions.

Our quality service and technical network enable you to help clients reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk, and drive process improvement within their finance and tax functions. Key responsibilities

1. Mentored by nationally recognized professionals, you'll be a trusted business advisor by delivering on our promises to our stakeholders - and play a critical role in building a better working world.
2. GCR assists in the design, implementation, and operation of global record-to-report processes.
3. Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service.
4. Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
5. Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.
6. Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business-driven approach.
7. Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison.
8. Key member of one of the client service groups providing full tax services to a client portfolio.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Almost 2-4 years of relevant working experience.
• Good understanding of the financial environment is preferable.
• Ability to build strong client relationships.
• Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
• Client-focused and commercially aware.
• Relationship management skills with the ability to manage client expectations.
• Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Good fluency in English.
