About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Waiter for All Day Dining Cinnamon is responsible for assisting in the overall day-to-day F&B operations. The role involves creating a pleasant dining environment and experience for guests. The waiter reports to the Outlet Supervisor.

As a Waiter, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Consistently achieve service and product delivery standards with high client care and service levels.
  • Demonstrate pride in the workplace and a high level of commitment.
  • Support the company's philosophy and culture through the use of Pillars and Legendary Quality Experiences to ensure guest satisfaction and achieve our Mission Statement.
  • Provide excellent service at all times to guests.
  • Assist guests courteously and efficiently.
  • Set up tables according to standards.
  • Suggest and correctly take customer food and beverage orders using upselling techniques.
  • Enter all sales accurately into the POS system, double-checking items before finalizing.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding guests’ special requests and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare the pantry and side stations with sufficient Mise en Place.
  • Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety in the back of house.
  • Ensure all served products are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it.
  • Manage cash float and cashiering responsibilities.
  • Prepare and maintain Buffet Tags.
  • Monitor your section continuously for maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Set up tables according to reservations.
  • Deliver correct orders to tables.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory checks.
  • Clear tables between courses throughout the meal.
  • Bid guests farewell warmly and thank them for their visit.
  • Stay informed about all information related to Food and Beverage outlets and Mandarin Oriental Jakarta/Group.
  • Act as a good Brand ambassador.
  • Maintain all hotel assets responsibly.

Requirements for a Waiter:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and holidays.
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Work safely, prudently, and in an organized manner.
  • Ability to relate to all guest levels and management.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury environment.
