Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets, 600+ offices and branches, and more than 140,000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management, we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region. As VP Strategic Programmes and Innovation, you will play a pivotal role in the execution / delivery of strategic initiatives and digital innovation to enable the bank to meet its business objectives.

Responsibilities

• To execute innovation, automation and simplification projects across the bank - from inception (idea generation), through to design, development, tracking and embedding.
• To assist in the implementation of AI strategy, development and rollout for HBID, working with businesses and functions to identify AI capabilities for local acceleration and deployment.
• To assist in enhancing AI governance structures that prioritize transparency, accountability and fairness while supporting innovation in financial services in line with the issuance of Indonesia’s national AI framework and OJK guidance.
• To keep abreast of local regulation, feeding in recommendations/views to the regulator when requested, and connecting with local and international SMEs through conferences etc.
• To drive an innovation culture across the bank, leveraging comms, campaigns, SparX, etc.
• To assist in project manage strategic entity level initiatives (e.g. Toba, AIDA enhancement to support data governance architecture and commercialization, Operational Resilience).

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

• Visionary leadership – ability to inspire innovation
• Proven track record in digital transformation, innovation, and change management / strategy
• Project management experience, involvement in large, cross‑functional programs / project and leading enterprise‑wide initiatives with multi‑year roadmaps
• Sound understanding on governance, risk management, budget management, and stakeholder alignment experience
• Good understanding of cloud platforms and modern architectures, AI / automation technologies, data analytics and digital platforms.

• Customer – centric thinking, understanding user journeys and market needs
