We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Senior Sales Engineer to support the sales organization in the UK&I region. This role involves leading technical engagements with prospective and existing clients, conducting demos, proofs of value, and technical workshops. You will collaborate closely with sales, partners, product management, and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep database expertise with strong communication skills, thrives in a customer-facing environment, and enjoys driving solutions from concept to successful delivery. You will play a key role in shaping client adoption of advanced data and AI technologies while enabling business growth.

Accountabilities
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proofs of value to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute technical strategies that align with client needs.
  • Conduct technical workshops and pilots to showcase product capabilities and value.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and internal teams, communicating technical requirements clearly.
  • Support technical account management, ensuring clients receive optimal guidance and solutions.
  • Work closely with partners, product management, and engineering to address customer technical needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, cloud technologies, and emerging database solutions.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation and sales collateral to support the sales process.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Sybase, or DB2) including active use or administration.
  • Customer-facing experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, consulting, or technical support.
  • Experience with High Availability, Scalability, Performance trade-offs, Security, and related concepts.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare Cloud, or OpenStack.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills and solutions focus.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
  • Preferred: experience with Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Microservices, PaaS (OpenShift, CloudFoundry).
  • Preferred: ability to conduct proof-of-value projects from requirements gathering to successful completion.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, Ruby, or C/C++ using database connectors (JDBC, Python, Node.js, ODBC).
