A growing e-commerce brand is looking for a Remote WordPress/WooCommerce & App Developer to maintain the website and support mobile app development. The ideal candidate has strong experience with WordPress and WooCommerce, a minimum of 2-3 years in development, and good English proficiency. This role offers remote work with flexible hours and a chance to shape the technical backbone of the business.
Job Title: Remote WordPress / WooCommerce & App Developer
Company: Patronus
Website: www.patronus-shop.de
Work Setup: Fully Remote – Long-Term
Hours: Full-time or part-time (with overlap to EU time zone)
I run Patronus, a fast-growing German e-commerce brand focused on high-quality pest control products. A big part of my business runs through our WordPress / WooCommerce online shop, and I now want to level up both the technical side of our website and start working on app-based solutions for our customers.
I am looking for a reliable, long-term WordPress / WooCommerce developer who can take ownership of the site and also support (or lead) mobile app development.
1. Website & Shop Maintenance
Make sure our WordPress + WooCommerce website runs fast, stable and secure
Regularly update WordPress core, themes and plugins (with proper testing)
Fix bugs, layout issues and plugin conflicts as they appear
2. Interfaces & Integrations
You help me make sure all important tools talk to each other properly:
JTL Warenwirtschaft (ERP system) – check and maintain the connection to WooCommerce
Klaviyo – ensure tracking, lists, flows and events work correctly with the shop
Demio – support integration for webinars (signups, tracking, automations)
Other interfaces like payment providers, tracking tools, etc.
Build and optimize landing pages (sales pages, product pages, content pages)
Adjust and improve templates, layouts and elements in our theme / child theme
Implement smaller automations and features that improve UX and conversions
Work closely with me and the marketing team to implement ideas (A/B tests, new sections, better funnels, etc.)
Help plan and develop a simple companion app for our customers (e.g. product info, guides, notifications, customer account, etc.)
Build the app using cross-platform frameworks (e.g. React Native or Flutter) or native development, depending on your skillset
Connect the app to our existing WordPress / WooCommerce backend via APIs
Implement basic authentication, push notifications and in-app views
Support deployment and updates for Google Play Store and/or Apple App Store (experience here is a strong plus, not a must-have from day one)
Strong experience with WordPress and WooCommerce
Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience with WordPress and WooCommerce development
Experience customizing themes (ideally Child Themes) and working with various plugins
Experience with APIs / integrations / webhooks is a big plus
Bonus if you have worked with:
JTL or other ERP integrations
Klaviyo (or similar email tools like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign)
Mobile / App Development (nice to have → big plus):
Experience with React Native, Flutter, or native Android/iOS
Consuming REST APIs in mobile apps
Basic understanding of publishing apps to Google Play / App Store is a plus
Basic understanding of:
Site speed optimization (caching, image optimization, etc.)
Tracking (Google Tag Manager, GA4 or similar)
Good written and spoken English
Business-level English proficiency for effective written and verbal communication
You are organized, proactive and can work independently
You are available for at least a few hours overlap with CET (Germany) time zone
Availability for a minimum of 2-3 hours daily overlap with CET timezone
Long-term collaboration with a stable, growing brand
Remote work with flexible working hours
Direct work with the founder – fast decisions, no corporate politics
A role where you can actively shape and improve the technical backbone of the business
The opportunity to bring your own ideas for web and app features and see them go live
When you apply please include:
A short introduction about yourself (ideally via Loom)
Your CV or link to your portfolio / GitHub / LinkedIn
Links to at least 2–3 WordPress / WooCommerce projects you worked on
