PaveNow is a fintech start-up focused on building a comprehensive financial management suite for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe. Our platform simplifies key business processes such as automated revenue invoicing, AI-powered bill digitization, employee expense management with approval workflows, bulk payments, and seamless integration with banking and accounting systems. We also provide real-time cash flow analytics to help entrepreneurs reduce errors and save valuable time.

We are expanding our offerings to include embedded revenue-based lending, which will provide SMEs with flexible capital through an upcoming credit card solution and bill payments module — designed to scale with their growth.

We are looking for a skilled Automation QA Engineer to join our team and help us deliver high-quality software products through effective test automation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts for web and mobile applications, collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Develop and execute end-to-end automated tests using Playwright.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure high-quality product releases.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work with the team to resolve issues.
• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes by integrating automated tests.
• Document and maintain test scenarios, test data, and test results.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring test code quality and maintainability.
• Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend tools, frameworks, and approaches for test automation.

Requirements

• English: B1+ (intermediate) written and spoken.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years as an Automation QA Engineer (AQA).
• Experience in building automation testing processes from scratch for web and mobile environments
• Playwright: Must have at least 1 year of hands-on experience.
• Web testing: Must have strong experience in automating web applications.
• Mobile testing: Desirable (experience with tools like Appium, Detox, or Playwright mobile testing is a plus).
• JavaScript (JS): Proficient programming skills.
• HTML: Proficient knowledge.

Other Common Requirements

• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI/CircleCI, or similar).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and ability to test them (automation preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for test environments.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for test execution.
• Performance or load testing experience.
• Security testing basics.
• Solid knowledge of programming patterns: OOP, SOLID, DRY, KISS, etc.
• Startup experience is a plus.
• Playwright-MCP: high-level knowledge or experience is a plus.
