Situated in South West Jakarta, the school's world-class facilities support a rich learning experience across academics, the arts, and sport. The educational journey begins with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), continues through the English National Curriculum and inquiry-based learning in Primary, and progresses to the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP) in Secondary.
The Role
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and skilled Primary Music Teacher to join the Primary School team. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music across the Primary Years, delivering a dynamic programme that blends musicianship, performance, creativity, and inquiry.

Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery
- Teach Music across the Primary School, fostering musical understanding, creativity, and performance skills.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with EYFS and the English National Curriculum, incorporating inquiry‑based and concept‑driven learning.
- Introduce students to a wide range of musical styles, traditions, and instruments.
- Plan age‑appropriate units that develop listening, rhythm, notation, composition, and performance skills.
- Lead sessions involving brass instruments and encourage student participation in ensembles, instrumental groups, or beginner brass activities.
- Performance & Enrichment
- Lead and support musical performances throughout the school year, including concerts, assemblies, community events, and celebrations.
- Collaborate closely with the Arts team to deliver high‑quality productions and musical showcases.
- Engage students in extracurricular music activities that nurture confidence, teamwork, and artistic expression.
- Contribute to the school's growing music culture, promoting participation from students of all abilities.
- Student Support & Assessment
- Monitor and assess student progress using a range of formative and summative methods.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students develop their musical skills and confidence.
- Encourage students to take risks, express themselves creatively, and develop collaborative musicianship.
- Facilitate regular wellbeing sessions that integrate creativity, reflection, and emotional expression through music.
- Professional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively within the Primary team and the wider Arts faculty.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and whole‑school artistic initiatives.
- Participate in professional learning, reflective practice, and ongoing curriculum development.
- Maintain open, positive communication with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Contribution to School Life
- Participate actively in the wider life of the school, including clubs, outdoor learning, and community events.
- Support primary and whole‑school celebrations, musical festivals, and cultural activities.

Candidate Profile
- A degree in Music, Music Education, or a related discipline (required).
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent teaching certification (required).
- Experience teaching Music across Primary age groups.
- Ability to teach and lead brass‑related sessions (strongly preferred).
- Experience with inquiry‑based or concept‑driven learning approaches.
- Strong musicianship, performance skills, and understanding of child development.
- A collaborative, student‑centred teaching philosophy.
