Job description

Lead and manage all engineering operations onboard tug vessels and barges.

Ensure safe and efficient operation of all machinery, engines, and ship systems.

Oversee maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and daily checks.

Implement preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate engine room logs, reports, and spare parts inventory.

Coordinate closely with the Captain and shore team for operational requirements.

Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and maritime regulations.

Requirements
  • Minimum ANT/ATT Class III or relevant engineering certification.
  • Proven experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on tugboats or similar vessels.
  • Strong working knowledge of tug & barge operations, preferably transporting nickel cargo.
  • Familiarity with engines used in tug fleets (Cummins, Yanmar, CAT, Mitsubishi).
  • Physically fit and able to work on rotation.
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willing to work primarily in Sulawesi (Morowali, Konawe, or surrounding regions).
