JOB OVERVIEW
The HR Manager is responsible for both the strategic and operational aspects of human resources in a mining company. This role combines high-level strategic planning and leadership with hands-on management of HR functions to support the company's objectives and ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies: Create and implement HR strategies that support the company’s business objectives, focusing on talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning.
- Organizational development: Drive initiatives to foster a positive company culture, improve employee engagement, and enhance overall organizational performance.
- Succession planning: Identify and develop internal talent to ensure a robust pipeline for key positions within the company.
- Policy development: Formulate, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Diversity and inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion within the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees.
- HR Management
- Recruitment and selection: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Performance management: Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to ensure employees receive constructive feedback and development opportunities.
- Employee relations: Address employee grievances and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
- Compensation and benefits: Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with company goals.
- Training and development: Identify training needs and organize development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date records and preparing required reports.
- Health and safety: Collaborate with the safety department to promote a safe working environment and manage health and safety programs.
- HR metrics and reporting: Track HR metrics and prepare reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Operational HR Duties
- Day-to-day HR operations: Handle routine HR tasks such as employee record-keeping, benefits administration, and payroll processing.
- Employee onboarding and offboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires and ensure smooth offboarding for departing employees.
- HRIS management: Maintain and manage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for efficient data management and reporting.
- Employee engagement: Organize and oversee employee engagement activities, fostering a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role. Experience in the mining or natural resources sector is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices; Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite; Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Location: Willing to be placed in Malinau, North Kalimantan.

Working Conditions
- Location: Based at the company’s headquarters with occasional travel to mining sites as required.
- Hours: Full-time position, with the expectation of occasional extended hours to meet deadlines or address urgent issues.
