About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join DEOUN, premium Korean grill & fine dining in central Jakarta. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and service. This is a full-time role based in our central Jakarta location.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop, demonstrate, and implement innovative menu concepts that showcase your culinary expertise.
  • Manage and mentor a team of talented chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Monitor food costs and inventory to maximise profitability.
  • Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events and catering services.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive and productive kitchen culture, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Head Chef or similar senior culinary role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a diploma or degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts.
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating a kitchen team to achieve excellence.
  • Exceptional food preparation and presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of food costing, inventory management and financial controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, suppliers and customers.
  • Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes that showcase your culinary creativity.
