About Our Client

The client is a leading electronics component company based in Batam.

Job Description

Product Development & Launch

  • Manage product evaluation, validation, and approval processes.
  • Establish and track project schedules, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
  • Evaluate and provide input on new product proposals.

Equipment Acquisition & Capacity Management

  • Define equipment needs and oversee procurement.
  • Lead machine commissioning and qualification.
  • Monitor and adjust production capacity to meet demand.
  • Plan and execute capacity expansion projects.

Factory & Process Layouts

  • Design and implement efficient shopfloor layouts.
  • Optimize material flow, productivity, and capacity utilization.
  • Define and maintain quality requirements for production.

Engineering & Process Improvement

  • Guide and develop process engineering teams.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives using data-driven approaches.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.

Production Scale-Up

  • Manage the shift from pilot runs to mass production.
  • Ensure ongoing improvements in cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with other departments to achieve production objectives.

Workforce Planning

  • Define staffing needs for production.
  • Recruit, train, and certify operators and engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and provide training.

Audit & Regulatory Alignment

  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Prepare documentation and address audit findings promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Conduct structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Embed a culture of operational excellence within the team.

Automation & Technology

  • Evaluate and deploy automation technologies.
  • Work with automation experts to integrate new solutions into production.
The Successful Applicant
  • Educational qualifications: Bachelor's or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
Experience
  • 12+ years in electronics or component manufacturing, including at least 2 years in leadership.
  • Background in facilities with automotive-level quality standards.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong in project execution, process optimization, and risk management.
  • Experienced in budget control and resource planning.
  • Proficient in Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Familiar with electronics manufacturing and integrated management systems (QMS, EMS, OHS).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
Core Competencies & Tools
  • APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA
  • Problem-solving (5-Why, fishbone, Pareto, etc.)
  • Statistical tools (Minitab or similar)
  • ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • 8D methodology, Lean Manufacturing, TPM
