You will support the Warehouse Manager with team management, ensuring efficient operations in a manual handling warehouse. Skills
This niche, established and very successful business in the automotive parts industry has created a new position of Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in the day‑to‑day management of the warehouse, being the point of contact between the Warehouse and Administration Team.
- Manage the small, manual handling warehouse team, dealing with day‑to‑day issues and supporting recruitment and training of staff
- Help with receipt and storage of goods using Reach & Counterbalance forklift
- Ensure that products are despatched quickly and accurately
- H&S compliance and maintenance of safety standards
- Maintain warehouse efficiency and cleanliness
- Close liaison with office functions such as procurement, administration and sales
- Hands‑on assembly for urgent, short‑notice customer orders
- Bespoke packing and palletising for customer orders
- Support improvements to layout, space utilisation and ways of working to improve overall efficiency over time
- Team leader or managerial experience in warehousing
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure
- Diplomacy and calm approach
- Ability to liaise between departments
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
