Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (or pro-rata) + bonus + pension scheme

SeeByte, a global leader in intelligent software solutions for maritime robotics, is hiring a C# Developer to join their dynamic engineering team in Edinburgh or Bristol. You’ll work on exciting projects involving uncrewed maritime systems and collaborate with international partners and clients. Flexible hours and part-time arrangements are also available.

About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the design, development, and integration of SeeByte’s intelligent maritime software. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team on high-impact, real-world applications that include autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), defense technology, and ocean exploration systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement modular and maintainable software in C#
  • Develop Windows-based user interfaces using WPF
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to deliver integrated solutions
  • Use modern CI/CD tools like Docker and Jenkins
  • Automate software deployment and configuration management
  • Apply industry best practices in software testing and system verification

Key Requirements

  • A degree in Software Engineering or a related numerate discipline with a focus on programming
  • Experience in C# and WPF UI development
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and agile development workflows
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and deployment pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in autonomous systems

Preferred (but not required)

  • Knowledge of robotics, sensors, or maritime technology
  • Previous experience working in defense or security-sensitive environments
  • Experience with cross-platform development
