Job summary
An international organisation in the UK seeks an experienced Technical Accountant to support financial accounting and reporting. The role involves overseeing statutory accounts, managing audits, and leading a financial reporting team. Candidates should be ACA qualified with over 5 years of PQE, possess strong technical accounting skills, and demonstrate leadership abilities. This position offers an opportunity to drive improvements within the finance function and support ERP implementation.

Are you an experienced Technical Accountant or Financial Reporting professional looking for a high-impact role in a dynamic, multi-entity environment? This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a successful international organisation, supporting a forward‑thinking Finance Director and leading the transformation of the finance function.
- Support the Finance Director across all internal and external financial accounting and reporting requirements, performing first‑stage review to ensure accuracy, integrity and timeliness.
- Lead consolidated reporting to shareholders and external stakeholders, including banks, pension providers and credit insurers.
- Oversee preparation of UK statutory accounts and European statutory reporting.
- Own consolidated balance sheet and cashflow forecasting and analysis.
- Manage the external audit process and act as the primary liaison for auditors, resolving technical accounting matters.
- Lead on ESG and sustainability reporting.
- Manage and develop a Financial Accounting & Reporting team of three, and oversee finance systems.
- Play a key role in transforming the finance function, driving improved processes, controls and systems.
- Support ERP implementation and internal governance reporting.
- Act as the organisation’s technical accounting expert, ensuring compliance with IFRS / UK GAAP and strong internal controls.
- Partner closely with business units and senior leadership to support decision making and enhance financial performance.
We’re looking for a confident and collaborative leader who brings :
- ACA (or equivalent) qualified with 5+ years PQE
- Strong technical accounting expertise, with deep knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Proven experience managing audits and working with external auditors
- Ability to drive improvements, manage complexity and implement change
