Location: Edinburgh or London
Salary: Will be discussed at interview stage - depending on location, skills & experience
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: We'll need you to be based in Edinburgh or London for this role as the territory covers these geographical areas. You'll work flexibly, splitting your time between 'on the road' meeting clients face to face and working from home.
The Strategic Partnership Director’s key purpose is to provide leadership and direction to the team as well as ensuring they play a key role in the overall strategy as part of the leadership team with Intermediary Wealth. In addition, as a senior leader there is the expectation that the individual also works effectively across the broader group.
We're looking for people who can drive revenue by securing new business, closing high-value deals, and embedding existing relationships with our strategic partners.
About this opportunity:
In this role, you'll have responsibility for running all elements of the Strategic Partnership team to drive commercial opportunities and retain existing business. We’ll need you to be dynamic, have a strong commercial perspective whilst demonstrating a solid understanding of the platform market, the needs and challenges of adviser businesses and you must have the ability to translate this into a consultative approach that helps position Scottish Widows Intermediary platform as their long-term strategic partner.
What you’ll be doing:
Uncover, nurture and close a pipeline of opportunities – lead the team to ensure successful acquisition of major strategic accounts and management of senior leader relationships
Effectively manage existing large key firms to embed and foster a partnership model
Build propositional growth initiatives to ensure we have a plan to approach and serve our chosen segments
Be a pioneer of the Intermediary market and deliver thought leadership that supports our ambition
Horizon scans the market to understand regulatory change, needs and innovation within the intermediary market.
Crafting compelling communications that support our interaction with advisory firms to ensure they are aware of the full breadth of what we provide, to support new proposition launch with clear calls to action.
Using your strong external network to build the profile and understanding of the Scottish Widows Platform Proposition and what is encouraged from the market.
Responsible for the effective up keep and data gathering onto our preferred Distribution Client Relationship Management system
Monitor trading and panel/colleague performance (eg PVNBP, pipeline, persistency, activity metrics, competitiveness) and identify performance improvement opportunities.

What you’ll need:
Prior relationships within the industry with deep client relationship experience and an in depth understanding of the evolving platform and intermediary market
Proven ability to lead a team and demonstrable results
Driven commercial mindset and strategic problem solver
Demonstrate the ability to activate new distribution partners through effective pricing, contracting and the signing of appropriate legal documentation
Takes on challenges with a sense of urgency and high energy; collaborating with others to make valuable contributions to the performance of the business area
Able to convey to the commercial partner the compelling reasons to partner with Scottish Widows/ Lloyds and can build rapid trust and rapport in their technical, commercial and service capabilities
Uses data and MI effectively to help decision making; combining analysis with experience and other feedback to make effective, workable decisions.
Uses compelling arguments to gain support and commitment of others. Negotiating skilfully to achieve good balance and effective outcomes.
