Job description

Carrying out planned maintenance of ICA plant and making decisions on both tasks and frequencies to balance regular checks and breakdowns.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the area's wastewater and water teams to provide ICA support and expertise for the area's wastewater treatment works and associated assets.
  • Ensure compliance with the area's planned maintenance schedule.
  • Carry out planned maintenance of ICA plant, making decisions on tasks and frequencies to balance checks and breakdowns.
  • Respond to breakdowns on a wide variety of ICA plant, assess problems, decide on action, acquire spares and carry out repairs as needed.
  • Recommend design changes to ensure plant functions efficiently and maintains service levels.
  • Review ICA solutions for small capital schemes to ensure correct operation.
  • Implement and maintain IMS procedures at all times to ISO standard, calibrate equipment per procedure, keep BMS records for audits.
  • Ensure operation of all communication links to wastewater outstations are maintained and operable.
  • Implement and maintain the Planned Maintenance System.
  • Be involved in design, installation and commissioning of Capital Schemes to enhance ICA, process optimisation, and environmental discharge monitoring and control.
  • Liaise closely within the Alliance Partnership to ensure large capital schemes are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Design, install, commission and maintain all instrumentation and communication links to wastewater assets.
  • Undertake any other duties as required to meet business needs.
Key Relationships
  • Internal – strong working relationship with the wastewater team, internal audit team, scientific team, asset strategy/capital delivery teams, and operational control centre.
  • External – Environment Agency (in relation to abstraction and discharge), Health and Safety, Emergency Planning, Capital Partners.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • HNC or equivalent in Industrial Measurement and Control.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Time Served apprenticeship in a relevant role – electronics, instrumentation or electrical desirable; or fully qualified in at least one of the work streams with demonstrable track record and experience.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Team player who values ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships across the business.
  • Effective communication skills.
