A leading healthcare institution in the UK seeks an experienced professional to provide specialized intra-operative spinal cord monitoring during surgeries. The role requires collaboration with medical staff and active participation in quality assurance practices. The ideal candidate has a degree in Clinical Neurophysiology and expertise in monitoring techniques, ensuring a high standard of care in challenging environments. Flexible working options are available.
This role provides highly specialised intra-operative spinal cord monitoring (IOM) predominantly during surgery for spinal deformity, using somatosensory and transcranial motor evoked potentials, and pre-operative evoked potential assessment for patients due to undergo spinal surgery when required. It also involves routine EEG, NCS, EMG and specialised Clinical Neurophysiology services across a range of procedures on patients with developmental, neurological and/or psychiatric disorders referred to the department from across the Trust and other hospitals.
You’ll be part of a team that values personal growth, open communication and shared learning. New staff are supported from day one, and the positive team culture makes it a great place to develop your skills and build confidence in clinical neurophysiology.
We are committed to supporting all employees to achieve a healthy work life balance and to work in a way that is best for them and our patients. We will consider all requests to work flexibly, taking into account the individual's personal circumstances as well as the needs of the service.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ celebrates, respects and values the diversity of its staff and patients. We review our policies, procedures and practices to ensure that all employees, patients and carers are treated equitably according to their needs. We are actively committed to ensuring that no one who applies for a job, works or studies at the Trust, or accesses our services is discriminated against on the grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, religion or belief, age, gender identity, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity/paternity, or marital/civil partnership.
