Role Summary:

You will foster strong working partnerships with the Senior leadership across Corporate Functions , their management team and Senior Technology Management team .

You will have specialised domain knowledge of one of more of the corporate functions within M&G: HR, Workplace Solutions , Audit, Risk and Compliance, Legal and CoSec , CorpAffairs and Finance. Role remit also extends to ensuring that all Technology control processes are operating as defined and are able to report externally to demonstrate effectiveness.

T his role acts as a bridge between technical and delivery functions, ensuring that solutions are not only technically sound, operationally fit for purpose and sustainable but also delivered effectively and in alignment with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with senior stakeholders across business areas and technical teams to secure resources, land deliverables and manage touchpoints/dependencies

  • Ensure reporting of the project’s status is complete and accurate and the reports are pitched at the right level for the various governance forum audiences

  • Build a rightsized delivery workforce that meets the firms workforce and location strategy and where required bring in 3 rd party delivery partners to assist with specialised project delivery

  • Support the target recruitment, retention and talent management strategies within Technology

  • Own, evolve and improve programme reporting packs to enable timely , transparent and informative reporting with visible communication and celebration of successes

  • Leading and support cross functional teams to deliver projects, on time, within budget and meeting the required quality, governance and sustainability standards

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong programme and project management skills

  • Confident and effective communicator (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation

  • Ability to work with limited supervision, seeking guidance where appropriate .

  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful details for non-specialist audiences.

  • Ability to understand organisational culture and use this knowledge to gain commitment and get work done.

  • Strong facilitation skills to elicit information from key stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Proven and demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills essential, with the ability to think laterally and generate creative solutions.

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables, with complexity.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and establishing professional rapport

  • Good negotiating and influencing skills

  • Strong financial and procurement acumen

Experience statements:

  • Have at least 10 years of experience working in a Finance or Corp Functions & Data Technology team.

  • Worked on or led Transformation programmes .

  • Broad technical experience with understanding of technical architectures including but not limited to the MS Azure stack.

  • Ability to understand Data Modelling & Data Governance .

  • Understanding of both Agile & Waterfall delivery Methodology .

  • Able to articulate, discuss policies with a view to transform associated processes and systems .

  • Ability to Lead / Manage 3rd Parties including budget tracking .

  • Hands on engineering experience in one of more languages & one or more cloud platform .

  • An appreciation of engineering, Security, Compliance & Service challenges

  • Experience working with solution design from end to end.
