A public sector organization is seeking an Interim Information Governance Officer for a 3-month contract starting in the New Year, ideally to begin in January. The contractor will manage Data Subject Access and Freedom of Information requests, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other legal frameworks. This position offers mostly remote work with office attendance required once per week. Strong experience in information governance and handling sensitive information is necessary for applicants.
Formación
Proven experience handling FOI and DSARs ideally within the public sector.
Good working knowledge of GDPR and information governance frameworks.
Comfortable applying exemptions and managing sensitive information.
Able to work independently and deliver at pace.
Responsabilidades
Managing and responding to Data Subject Access Requests and Freedom of Information requests.
Handling complex cases involving financial information, contracts and organisational change.
Applying appropriate exemptions and refusal criteria in line with legislation.
Exercising judgment around commercial sensitivity and potential harm from disclosure.
Maintaining and updating Records of Processing Activities.
