The primary role of this job entails operating a FEL ‑ Front end loading shovel. It is imperative for the operator to ensure the safe and proper operation of these machines, and may also operate other mobile plant machinery with certification. The role also involves maintenance of mobile plant equipment as required by the manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials, and performing other duties on the main processing plant as directed by Site Management.

• Operate a FEL (front end loading shovel) for de‐stocking sand from a wash plant and loading HGVs with sand.
• Operate the machine in a safe and proper manner.
• Operate any other certified mobile plant machines as directed by Site Management.
• Carry out maintenance works on mobile plant equipment as required by the manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials.
• Perform other duties on the main processing plant as recommended by Site Management, within the operator’s capability.
• Adhere to the company health & safety policy and Quarry Regulations 1999.

• GCSE 4+ (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Certification by EPIC for operating mobile plant.
• NVQ Level 2 in mobile plant operations, obtained after EPIC completion.
