- Lead and manage all aspects of Development Planning, including policy development and Planning Committee matters.
- Ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant services through effective systems and performance management.
- Oversee budgets and allocate resources efficiently, planning for future service demands.
- Build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, managing performance and supporting staff growth.
- Maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders and represent the Council locally and nationally.
The role provides strategic leadership for all Development Planning functions, overseeing the preparation of Development Plans, the Council’s London Plan input, and ensuring policy aligns with local and national planning frameworks.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage all aspects of Development Planning, including policy development, Development Plans, S106/CIL obligations, and Planning Committee matters.
- Service Delivery & Performance: Ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant services through effective systems, targets, and performance management.
- Finance & Resource Management: Oversee budgets and allocate resources efficiently, planning for future service demands and maximising value.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, managing performance and supporting staff growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Representation: Maintain strong partnerships with elected members, local authorities, agencies, and the community, representing the Council locally and nationally.
