A growing automotive organisation is seeking a hands-on Talent & Development Manager to drive recruitment, learning, culture, and payroll coordination in a fast-paced environment. This managerial role has no direct reports but requires collaboration with the Head of HR and the ability to oversee end-to-end recruitment, training initiatives, and employee engagement projects. A growing automotive organisation is looking for a hands‑on Talent & Development Manager to support recruitment, L&D, culture and payroll coordination. This is a manager‑level role with no direct reports, working closely with the Head of HR in a small, collaborative team.
You’ll shape the full employee journey - from attraction and onboarding through to development and retention. The role combines operational HR, people development and project work as the business scales.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and improve hiring processes
- Deliver onboarding, management training and wider L&D initiatives
- Support talent reviews, performance processes and succession planning
- Coordinate payroll changes and maintain accurate HR records
- Advise managers on ER matters (probation, attendance, performance)
- Support culture, engagement and people-focused projects
- Use HR data to identify trends and improvements
- Strong background in recruitment, L&D or HR advisory/partnering
- Experience with ER issues and UK employment practices
- Payroll knowledge (processing changes, accuracy checks)
- Confident in fast‑paced, multi‑department environments
- Strong stakeholder and relationship‑building skills
- Proactive and solutions‑focused
- Good MS Office and HR systems knowledge
- Automotive or engineering experience CIPD Level 5+
