Job summary
A local authority organization in the Midlands is seeking a full-time Locum Childcare/ASC Legal Assistant for a 3-month contract. The role involves providing legal and administrative support to Childcare Solicitors, liaising with courts and other agencies, and managing your own caseload. Candidates must have experience dealing with Childcare/ASC matters and have worked on behalf of Local Authorities. The position offers predominantly remote working with the possibility of occasional office attendance, at an hourly rate of up to £30.
Qualifications
- Experience handling Childcare/ASC matters.
- Demonstrated prior experience working for Local Authorities.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal, clerical and administrative support to Childcare Solicitors.
- Liaise with the Childcare team, Courts, and other external bodies.
- Collate evidence and prepare court applications.
- Manage own caseload.
Skills
Position: Locum Childcare/ASC Paralegal
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months + with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, with office attendance on occasion
Hourly Rate: Up to £30 per hour Umbrella
The ideal candidate must have experience in handling Childcare/ASC matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
- Provide legal, clerical and administrative support to the team of Childcare Solicitors
- Day to day liaisons with the Childcare team, Courts, external bodies, and other bodies
- Collating evidence, preparing court applications, and continuing the document management of Court cases
- Administrative tasks such as preparing bundles
- Be prepared to manage own casleoad
