Overview

A leading law firm is recruiting dedicated Children Paralegals for a highly sought permanent position.

Client Brief

The client serves corporate entities and private individuals across over 25 practice areas from offices throughout London and across England and Wales. The client is recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners as a top‑tier firm and holds the Investors in People Gold Accreditation, LEXCEL, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001‑2013 accredited and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Family & Children Department Background

Our client’s Family & Children department is ranked and recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for family and matrimonial work, providing confidential advice with effective representation. The team includes practitioners who have achieved the Law Society’s Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations, ensuring consistent, professional service and high continuity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Professional pro‑active approach, strong client care skills and sensitive understanding of clients’ needs
  • Assist with casework including dealing with a range of Children / Child Care matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) and undertake advocacy
  • Attend clients, take instructions and prepare cases
  • Deal with correspondence
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
  • Prepare draft documents including witness statements and process evidence
  • Attend conferences and court
  • Maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement recommendations made by supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring prompt resolution
  • Ensure compliance with file management
Key Skills Required
  • Passion and legal experience in a broad range of Family & Children Law
  • Strong academic background with a Law degree
  • Clear understanding and application of Family & Children Law
  • Business acumen and ability to market the Company
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all types of people
