An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide high quality services to the community who use the Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) services across Cambridgeshire. You will be based at our site in Cambridge, located at Brookfield's Hospital. The role involves welcoming patients, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting contraception, sexual health and HIV care.

• Welcome patients and obtain relevant personal and clinical details, treating all information as confidential.
• Following training and sign-off, act as a chaperone and assist nurses/doctors with intimate examinations/procedures and sexual health screening.
• Following training, read and interpret microscopy slides as directed by clinicians and document findings where required.
• Provide services for asymptomatic patients requesting routine sexual health screening where locally required and trained to do so.
• Administer prescribed vaccines in accordance with service guidelines and SOPs, if required by the clinical service.
• Hold the Care Certificate and deliver associated standards of care or undertake training upon recruitment.
• Provide information to patients attending the department, including risk reduction and contraception advice, where appropriate.
• Provide a phlebotomy service for patients attending the services where trained to do so.
• Support and direct patients to relevant individuals/agencies while accessing healthcare; participate in outreach and health promotion events when requested.
• Undertake non-clinical duties to support the admin team (e.g., call handling, reception duties, registering patients, data collection).
• Issue C-card and condoms following training.
• Maintain patient records in line with Trust and national standards; signpost clients to other services where appropriate.
• Direct and escort patients and visitors around the clinic and assist with clinic navigation and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision, audits, and clinical governance as required; participate in mandatory training and annual appraisals.
• Attend meetings if on shift and ensure the safe-keeping of patients’ property in line with Trust policies.
• Prepare clinic rooms prior to sessions, restock equipment, and undertake general housekeeping duties within clinics.

• Hold the Care Certificate and be prepared to undertake training to deliver phlebotomy and chaperone duties (or demonstrate willingness to undertake training).
• Experience in a front-of-house role with the ability to build a warm, welcoming rapport with patients.
• Understanding of sensitivity and confidentiality involved in contraception, sexual health and HIV services.
• Demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults at risk.
• Be willing to travel and work across all parts of the service as appropriate.
• Be able to meet the travel requirements of the Trust and, where applicable, work flexibly including evenings or across sites.
