Overview

The successful candidate will provide a photographic support service, using local policies and procedures to ensure data transfer is secure. This important role will provide a comprehensive and effective service to support the smooth and efficient running of the Community Based Teledermatology Photography service. The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Photography team alongside other staff within the department, providing a service to the wider multidisciplinary teams across the Trust. The post holder will communicate effectively and courteously with a range of internal and external personnel, patients and carers, and provide a high level of customer service when engaging with patients.

BCHC delivers over 100 clinical services in people’s homes, health centres, clinics and inpatient facilities, including services for children, young people and families as well as adults and community services, two community hospitals, services for people with learning disabilities, the West Midlands Rehab Centre and one of Europe’s leading Dental Hospitals and School of Dentistry. Responsibilities
  1. Provide admin support to the Clinical Photography team to accurately document patient medical history and lesion-specific information.
  2. Process data and information from clinical photographic requests using a range of computer systems in a timely way, mindful of data protection and security at all times.
  3. Use specialist software to help process images and lesion reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  4. Liaise with administration, clinical staff, support staff, patients and relatives; face to face, electronic media and telephone communication regarding the Teledermatology service.
  5. Receive and process information in accordance with Trust Policies and comply with the Data Protection Act.
  6. Communicate effectively and liaise with other health professionals in a clear, concise and professional manner, contributing to the successful outcome of their clinical teledermatology requests.
  7. Liaise with other users or Trusts to assist in providing a high-quality, secure and efficient service in sharing images when required.
  8. Act as an ambassador for the department and promote services.
  9. Undertake statutory training as required in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and Trust policy.
  10. Ensure security in the work environment by processing data confidentially and maintaining the integrity of the image at all times.
  11. Act as front of house receptionist and telephonist when required and provide admin and clerical support to department members.
  12. Undertake a range of general office duties, prioritising demands with supervision and referring to the manager when necessary.
  13. Gather relevant clinic information to aid the photographer's work scheduling; book in patient details and assist with image management such as copying files.
  14. Provide reception services – meeting and greeting patients and staff.
  15. Assist the clinical photographer during teledermatology photographic sessions.
  16. Act as chaperone to photographers and patients during photographic sessions as required.
  17. Assist in reassuring anxious patients/relatives/carers regarding the photography policy and procedures prior to their photographic session.
  18. Occasionally undertake a patient/customer satisfaction survey and assist with the bi-annual Patient Information audit to meet Trust standards.
  19. Manage the electronic departmental diary, taking bookings/requests and forwarding to staff.
  20. Undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager.

UK Home Office Visa Sponsorship requirements: In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 non-clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship. The majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3–6) with the exception of those listed may not meet minimum requirements to sponsor candidates. All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7–9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship. The Trust will accept applications from candidates who can evidence their right to work in the UK or via alternative visa routes.
