We love our customers and we love local shopping!

Whether she’s a busy Mum looking for budget-friendly fashion, a guy looking for the ultimate BBQ shirt, or a fashion lover looking for the latest trends, we aim to offer our customer wearable style for all the family on their local High Street.

If you are passionate about the brand and seeking a new challenge, then Peacocks is the place for you!

You will be based at our modern, purpose-built Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is only 2 hours away by train.

What’s in Cardiff?

  • If you are considering relocation, Cardiff should top your list! A vibrant city and the hub of South Wales, Cardiff has it all – from arts and culture, sports, shopping, and the great outdoors.
  • Cardiff is blessed with an abundance of green spaces, sandy beaches, and breathtaking National Parks on our doorstep. Just 30 miles from Cardiff is Bannau Brycheiniog National Park offering spectacular scenery. We also have the sandy beaches of Barry Island, Ogmore-by-Sea, and Trecco Bay – perfect for a summer's day!
  • Cardiff offers an exciting social scene, with numerous places to eat from bistros to award-winning restaurants, pubs, and clubs where you can enjoy your style of music, whatever your taste.
  • There are Arts, Music, and Drama venues staging famous plays, ballets, and Operas – as well as iconic sporting venues regularly hosting high-profile sporting events.

Whatever you are looking for, you will find it here in South Wales!

The role

As a Buyer, you will assist in developing, sourcing, and delivering an on-trend and commercially focused range, whilst driving profit and enhancing the Peacocks brand position.   • Review and analyze sales data, identifying top-performing products/lines, making data-driven decisions for future lines and recommendations for improvement;
  • Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal products, prices, and terms of contract, utilizing supplier expertise to improve range and knowledge;
  • Lead meetings at Director/Head of level ensuring key information is effectively communicated and actions are completed within set timescales;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful launch of new product lines, seasonal collections, and other initiatives;
  • Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, ensuring stock turn, margin targets, and profit levels are achieved.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience within a Fashion Retail Buying role with a strong commercial mindset;
  • Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the entire buying process with a strong eye for print and pattern;
  • A passion for trends and the ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment;
