A community playgroup in Edinburgh is seeking a Lead Practitioner (Manager) for a part-time role. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, support children aged 2-5, and manage administrative duties. This position includes term-time hours and a competitive salary based on experience. Salary based on experience: £25,000 – £30,000 pro-rata (PART-TIME). 27 hours per week (40 weeks + 5.6 weeks holiday = 45.6 weeks paid over 52). Includes pension contributions / NI. In-setting term-time hours: 18 hours/week (typically 4 mornings, Mon–Fri). Administrative duties: 9 hours/week, year-round. Set working hours: 8am – 12.30pm. Although in-setting hours are term-time, they are contracted and paid pro-rata over 52 weeks, alongside the 9 admin hours.

Cramond Playgroup is a registered charity based in the well-equipped Cramond Kirk halls. We provide a fun, caring, and stimulating environment where children can flourish. The playgroup is run by a committed team of staff and a supportive parent-led committee.
We are seeking a Playgroup Leader (Manager) to lead our long-established community playgroup and to oversee a dedicated staff team, support the wellbeing and development of children aged 2-5, and build on the playgroup’s strong reputation.
The role is for 27 hours per week during term time, comprising in-session work (typically 8:00am–12:30pm, Monday to Friday) and additional administrative hours. The playgroup follows Edinburgh City Council term dates.
