Legal Counsel – Professional Liability – 12 month FTC
Our client is an international law firm with an outstanding reputation for excellence, headquartered in the City of London and offices across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It is currently experiencing growth on a global scale and the infrastructure is growing to support it.
We have an urgent requirement for a mid-level lawyer to join the internal legal, risk & compliance team for 12 months to support on professional liability and insurance issues.
The wider team has 12 lawyers and 3 paralegals advising on all aspects of legal risk, financial crime, complaint, data privacy and regulation. You will be working directly for the Head of Professional Liability and handling a wide range of issues including assessing and tracking client complaints, dealing with insurance notifications, helping with insurance renewals, liaising with the SRA and Legal Ombudsman and managing claims. On more complex contentious matters, you will also need to instruct and liaise with outside counsel.
This is an interesting and busy role, and we are seeking a lawyer who can hit the ground running. You must be a qualified lawyer with 5+ years’ PQE in professional liability and professional negligence. Experience of advising in-house is an advantage but not essential. We are seeking an individual who is robust, has the ability to work independently, has a can-do attitude and is self-motivated. As the role will expose you to a wide range of fee-earners, senior stakeholders and external third parties we are seeking strong communication skills and confidence for building relationships.
The firm operates a hybrid policy of 60% in the office (3 days a week) and this role will be based in the London office. You must be available to start immediately.
