Job summary
A legal recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to provide high-quality legal advice on employment matters within a local authority in North London. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of PQE, with a strong background in employment and education law. This is a full-time contract role offering a competitive rate and requiring office attendance once a week.

- Relevant experience in local government preferred.
- Ability to conduct complex cases with minimal supervision.

- Represent the council in courts and tribunals.
- Advise on occasional education law matters.

Service Care Legal are recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a local authority in the North London region. As an Employment Education Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation throughout the council on employment matters.
- Provide high-quality legal advice and representation on employment matters including YUPE, unfair dismissals and tribunals.
- Advise on changes in legislation and case law that may impact the organisation.
- Represent the council in courts, tribunals, and inquiries.
- Advise on occasional education law matters.
- Role: Employment Lawyer
- Location: North London
- Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week
- Rate: £50ph LTD (£44.51ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £39.72ph PAYE exc. holiday pay)
- Note: Office attendance required once per week
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
- Relevant experience in employment and education law, preferably in local government
- Significant specialist knowledge in employment and education law
- Experience of conducting complex cases with minimal supervision
