Principal .Net Engineer - 50/50 Hands-on

Role Overview: My Client is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in .NET Core and cloud-native systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-performing agile team, a mix of 50% hands-on development and 50% leadership and strategy.

You'll help design and build distributed systems and APIs, while mentoring others and promoting best practices in engineering delivery.

• Design, build and maintain robust, scalable applications and services
• Ensure software meets business needs, aligns with technical strategy, and is delivered to a high standard
• Work closely with architects and product teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, introducing new tools, practices, or technologies
• Mentor junior engineers and help shape technical decision-making within the team

• Expert-level C# development with recent experience in .NET Core and .NET Framework
• Experience leading small development teams
• Experience designing and building distributed, event-driven systems
• Strong API development skills (REST and/or GraphQL)
• Proficient in relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience deploying and managing applications in AWS environments
• Hands-on involvement across the SDLC including QA and production support

• Salary up to £100k
