Job summary
A reputable education recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a qualified educator to teach Functional Skills in English and/or Maths. The role involves planning lessons, tracking learner progress, and creating a supportive environment for learners at various levels. Candidates should possess a relevant teaching qualification and demonstrate strong communication skills. Experience with adult learners or those with additional needs is desirable, along with a commitment to inclusivity in education.
Qualifications
- Teach Functional Skills English and/or Maths to diverse learners.
- Track learner progress and maintain accurate educational records.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Functional Skills sessions.
- Prepare learners for assessments and exams.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Skills
Education
- Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills English and/or Maths sessions
- Support learners at Entry Level to Level 2
- Track learner progress and maintain accurate records
- Prepare learners for assessments and exams
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Functional Skills English and/or Maths at Level 2 or above
- Experience delivering Functional Skills or similar provision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and support diverse learners
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience working with adults, apprentices, or learners with additional needs
- Assessor or IQA qualifications
- Familiarity with exam board requirements
