About Us

Brain in Hand blends practical tools with real human guidance so autistic and ADHD people get support in the moments that matter – at work, in education, and in life. Our app takes coaching beyond scheduled sessions into everyday moments, delivering personalised support and real human guidance on-demand, exactly when it’s needed most.

For organisations, this means scalable, actionable support for neurodivergent people. For individuals, it builds confidence and independence through practical tools. With over half our team being neurodivergent and over 25,000 users supported, we build with lived experience and are grounded in research.

Recently recognised as a Times Best Places to Work, Brain in Hand is a fast-moving, supportive place to grow. We work with clear goals and flexible ways of working so you can thrive. Join our mission‑led team and help turn purpose into outcomes that genuinely improve our users’ lives.

About you

An experienced UX Content Lead who combines strong strategic thinking with a genuinely hands‑on approach. You are comfortable owning content end‑to‑end, from shaping direction and priorities through to writing, editing and maintaining content yourself. You bring depth of experience and are motivated by ownership, taking responsibility for shaping, creating and improving content with a strong focus on craft, quality and user impact.

You enjoy working closely with product, coaching and support colleagues, translating insight into clear, inclusive, person‑centred content that helps users take meaningful action.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to the Head of Product you’ll lead on Brain in Hand’s UX and coaching‑related digital content strategy and its day‑to‑day delivery. This is a senior individual contributor role: you will think strategically about how content supports user outcomes and the product roadmap, while remaining closely involved in the hands‑on creation, maintenance and improvement of content.

You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, taking responsibility for prioritising, delivering and improving content with minimal day‑to‑day direction, while staying closely aligned with product, coaching and support colleagues.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our in‑app content, solution guidance and help centre materials are clear, consistent, evidence‑based and genuinely useful for users, enabling greater independence and engagement outside of coaching sessions.

Your responsibilities
Content strategy
  • Develop a strong understanding of our users, clients, coaches and business priorities.
  • Own and evolve a content strategy that supports user experience goals and measurable user outcomes.
  • Align content with the product vision and roadmap, ensuring it evolves alongside new features and directions.
  • Embed content thinking into product planning and cross‑functional work through active collaboration, not delegation.
  • Explore and contribute to external partnerships that support the creation of high‑quality content, while retaining personal ownership of core content.
Content management and operations
  • Design and maintain fit‑for‑purpose content creation and management processes.
  • Establish review and release workflows that balance speed with accuracy, consistency and quality.
  • Work to existing tone of voice, editorial guidelines and content governance, and co‑develop future iterations with the wider content team.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, Coaching and Customer Support to prioritise and deliver content efficiently.
  • Use analytics and qualitative insight to evaluate content effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
User experience content
  • Build and maintain a high‑quality library of solution content that helps users get started quickly, understand their situation and make progress towards their goals.
  • Create and maintain concise, in‑the‑moment, person‑centred text‑based solution content.
  • Develop and trial rich media content (video, audio and imagery) to better engage and support users, coordinating production where needed.
  • Own and manage the Help Centre, ensuring tutorials, FAQs and guidance materials are accurate, up to date and easy to navigate.
Coaching content
  • Develop content that supports coaches to deliver consistently high‑quality support.
  • Create content that helps users prepare for coaching sessions and sustain meaningful change after them.
What you’ll bring to Brain in Hand

We’d love someone to come on board who brings these skills and experiences to complement our talented team:

  • Proven experience in UX writing, content design, content strategy or digital content management.
  • A strong track record of being hands‑on with content creation, not just setting direction.
  • Comfort working autonomously, using judgement to prioritise work and move from insight to delivery independently.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas with empathy, clarity and authority.
  • A good understanding of neurodiversity, person‑centred approaches and inclusive communication.
  • Experience working with multi‑format content including text, video, audio and imagery.
  • Confidence working directly with multiple stakeholders to shape and deliver content.
  • Comfort using AI‑assisted writing tools responsibly as part of your own workflow.
  • An analytical mindset, using insight and data to continually improve content quality and effectiveness.
What success looks like in this role

You’ll know you’ve been successful when:

  • Users are able to get started independently and engage more frequently outside of coaching sessions because the content is clear, relevant and easy to use.
  • UX, solution and coaching content feels consistent and coherent across digital and human touchpoints.
  • Content is delivered consistently and proactively, with the role operating independently while staying closely aligned to product and coaching priorities.
  • High‑quality content is created, maintained and improved efficiently, without reliance on large teams or layers of approval.
  • Insight from coaching delivery is regularly translated into practical, scalable content that supports current and future users.

This role is likely to contribute to and impact KPIs such as onboarding success, content engagement and reuse, user confidence and independence, and support efficiency.

What you can expect

We’re scaling fast, we work at pace and we work hard. We actively support our colleagues to relish the pace, challenge and ambition of Brain in Hand, so you can expect:

  • Private Medical Insurance
  • A values driven, supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of Brain in Hand through regular colleague consultation and feedback.
  • A competitive salary and pension.
  • 33 days leave annually (incl. bank holidays).
  • Support for professional and personal development.
  • Involvement in various internal groups and events like ‘Brew Mondays’ and our employee support groups.
Where you’ll work

We trust our teams to work remotely, from anywhere in the UK. That said, the Product team meet every couple of months to collaborate and support one another so you’ll need to be willing to travel. There might be times when you’ll need to travel to other UK locations for meetings or events but these will be planned ahead of time.
