Job summary
A UK-based technology company is seeking a skilled professional for a remote position requiring 5+ years of experience with Smallworld and related technologies. Responsibilities include system configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of Smallworld products while maintaining effective communication with clients. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with Java, SQL, and Oracle are essential.
Qualifications

- Strong debugging skills and problem analysis capabilities.
- Experience with shell scripting and interpreting logs.

- Installation of Operating system patches and 3rd Party Software.
- System configuration and installation of Smallworld suite of products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on live customer systems.

Job Description
SMALLWORLD - Core SW4, SW5, GSA, DM, NRM, EO, FME, magik, java, JSF, SWMFS DBA, VMDS, SQL, Oracle, Customer Specific Customization inc citrix; source control systems, development processes
Responsibilities will include:
Smallworld, Physical Network Inventory, Network Inventory Gateway, Electric Office, Electric Office Web, Gas Office, Magik
• 5+ years of experience with Smallworld PNI, Core SW4, SW5, EO, GDO, GTO, GSS, GSA, DM, MES, NRM, K8
• 5+ years of experience with magik, Java, VMDS & Oracle Database
• SQL, shell scripting, ability to read and interpret logs & debug files
• Installation of Operating system patches and other 3rd Party Software such as ONA, Data Center Management,
• System configuration and Hands on Experience with installation of Smallworld suite of products.
• Must have experience in picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems
• Proven track record of problem analysis, identification and resolution
• Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• MS office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook competency
• Object-Oriented programming techniques, Oracle, and/or system administration, is a plus
