This role will lead the national rollout of PEACS (Pain: Equality of Care and Support in the Community)—an evidence-based intervention designed to improve outcomes for people living with chronic pain, particularly in underserved communities. The postholder will oversee implementation across three pilot sites, ensuring fidelity to the PEACS model while enabling local adaptation in neighbourhoods through co-design with patients and community partners, supporting proactive, community-led approaches to prevention and care. The role will require regular travel to pilot sites to support implementation, co-design activities, and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include developing and delivering a comprehensive implementation toolkit, coordinating multi-professional training, and embedding robust evaluation frameworks to demonstrate impact on health inequalities, patient experience, and cost-effectiveness. The role will also provide strategic leadership for prevention initiatives, supporting integrated approaches to mental and physical health.
Working across health, care, and voluntary sectors, the postholder will champion cultural humility, equity, and co-production, influence national policy and guidance on chronic pain care, and build sustainable models for scale-up and spread.

This ambition is central to the King’s Health Partners Strategy to 2030, which sets out our bold vision for a reimagined health and care system, informed by people, education, research, and innovation, that truly meets the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, and communities alike.
