This allows the Trust to secure certain freedoms to facilitate innovation in the way services are developed and provided. As well as our Trust Board, we also have a Council of Governors comprised of governors representing the local community.
The trust has a turnover in the region of £294 million and employs over 3000 people. There are approximately 500 beds on the acute site and, in addition, the trust manages the Mary Seacole Nursing Home in Shoreditch, East London which has 50 beds. In 2018/19, there were over 63,000 admissions and over 263,000 people were seen in outpatient clinics. The emergency department which sees over 325 people a day was one of the first to be rated as outstanding by the quality care commission.
