A financial services recruitment agency is seeking an Interim Senior Financial Accountant to support a business on the outskirts of Colchester for an initial term of 4-5 months. The role involves leading financial reporting and assisting with strategic projects. Ideal applicants are part-qualified or qualified in ACCA/ACA/CIMA with strong Excel and accounting skills.
Qualifications
- Part-Qualified or Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA is essential.
- Experience with IT systems and emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and reporting requirements.

MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting an Interim Senior Financial Accountant to support a business based on the outskirts of Colchester for an initial term of 4-5 months. As a Senior Financial Accountant you will lead on the ongoing delivery of monthly, quarterly and year end reporting obligations, and support with key strategic projects.
- Own the monthly, quarterly and year end reporting requirements, including the posting of journals
- Assist in the completion of Statutory Accounts, filing, and group reporting. Where appropriate, preparing the financial statements.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations of debtor/creditor balances and profit and loss intercompany trading.
- Produce balance sheet reconciliations and perform timely investigations and clearance of any discrepancies.
- Ensure the timely provision of information and answers to the tax consultants.
- Ensure the timely provision of information and answers to the auditors during half-year and year-end audits.
- Ensure the correct application of accounting policies.
- Work with key stakeholders within the management/financial accounts process to ensure strong controls, compliance, and governance.
- Deliver any other appropriate departmental tasks required within the team.
- Leading on project work i.e. implementation of new systems.
- Part-Qualified or Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- Significant level of experience using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- SAP experience is advantageous
- Significant understanding of key accounting concepts.
- Strong understanding of general reporting requirements for a business both internally and externally.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence a wide range of people.
