Maintenance Planner
Job summary
A well-established manufacturing firm in Birmingham is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate maintenance plans and manage scheduling activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and familiarity with SAP systems. Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role to a Maintenance Planner.
- Familiarity with SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM.
- Strong maintenance scheduling and planning skills.
- Experience within engineering or manufacturing industries (desirable).
- Minimum 5 GCSEs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate agreed maintenance plans and create and update scheduled maintenance activities.
- Allocate parts and materials, and assist with production work order generation.
- Plan and organise day-to-day maintenance activities.
- Control and populate the engineering plan, and manage work backlogs.
- Support the use of SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM for maintenance plans.
- Schedule workload for technicians and review SAP modules.
- Act as a site contact for contract labour.
- Carry out risk assessments and manage work orders.
Role: Maintenance Planner (Manufacturing) – Location: Birmingham – Salary: Competitive + Benefits – Hours: 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday

- Coordinate agreed maintenance plans and create and update scheduled maintenance activities
- Allocate parts and materials, and assist with production work order generation and management
- Plan and organise day-to-day maintenance activities and shutdown coordination
- Control and populate the engineering plan, and manage work backlogs
- Support the use of SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM for structured maintenance plans and historical documentation
- Schedule workload for Multiskilled Shift Technicians and review SAP Plant Maintenance modules
- Act as a site contact for contract labour and ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
- Carry out risk assessments, attend/organise courses and meetings, and raise and manage work orders
- Previous experience in a similar role to a Maintenance Planner
- Familiarity with SAP PM/BI/MRS/MM
- Strong maintenance scheduling and planning skills
- Experience within engineering or manufacturing industries (desirable)
- Minimum 5 GCSEs
