Job summary
A well-known manufacturing firm is seeking a highly organized Materials Planner for a 3-month contract in Stoke-on-Trent. The role involves managing production schedules, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely procurement of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, inventory management, and familiarity with ERP systems like Navision. Responsibilities
- Create and manage production orders based on sales forecasts.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for materials and parts.
- Prepare and issue lists for warehouse and production teams.
- Ensure all production transactions are accurately recorded.
- Report any risks related to production or materials.
- Suggest and implement improvements to streamline processes.
- Track and report on key performance metrics.
- Keep BOM data updated for planning and forecasting.
- Work with procurement for ordering materials.
- Manage changes to BOMs and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Provide status updates on material availability.

In this role, you will manage production schedules, maintain inventory levels, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services. - Key Responsibilities: Production Scheduling - Create and manage production orders based on sales forecasts and business needs.
- Inventory Management - Maintain accurate inventory levels for materials and parts, ensuring everything is available for production.
- Pick List - Prepare and issue lists for warehouse and production teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Transaction Monitoring - Ensure all production and material transactions are accurately recorded in the MRP system.
- Issue Reporting - Report any risks related to production or materials and work with teams to find solutions.
- Continuous Improvement - Suggest and implement improvements to streamline processes.
- KPI Reporting - Track and report on key performance metrics.
- BOM Management - Keep Bill of Materials (BOM) data updated to support planning and forecasting.
- Procurement Coordination - Work with the procurement team to ensure accurate and timely ordering of materials.
- Engineering Change Management - Manage changes to BOMs and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Project Updates - Provide status updates on material availability and project timelines.
- Qualifications - Experience in production planning, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.
- Team and Communication - Ability to work well in teams and communicate effectively.
- ERP/MRP Familiarity - Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, ideally Navision.
