HGV Class 1 driver
Job summary
A logistics company in Manchester is seeking HGV Class 1 drivers to ensure the smooth delivery of goods across the UK. Candidates must have a valid HGV Class 1 licence and at least 6 months of driving experience. Responsibilities include conducting vehicle checks and adhering to safety regulations. Competitive pay rates of £16.00 per hour for days and £18.50 for nights are offered.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months experience as an HGV driver.
- Digi card & DQC required.
- Maximum of six points on licence (exclusions apply).
Responsibilities
- Load or unload goods as necessary.
- Complete 2-3 trunking runs a shift.
- Conduct vehicle safety checks.

Education
We are recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for our established client in the Manchester area.
As an HGV driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of goods across the UK.
- Be able to load or unload if necessary
- Complete 2-3 trunking runs a shift – if and when required
- Safely carry our vehicle checks to ensure road safety compliance
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines consistently
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding safety protocols and vehicle maintenance.
- Must be comfortable with coupling and uncoupling
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company safety standards.
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
RATES – Days £16.00ph, Nights £18.50ph
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Minimum 6 months experience as an HGV driver
- Digi card & DQC
- Maximum of six points on licence (no DR, DD, IN, or TT offences)
